Development strategy to optimize the administrative management of Chinese private colleges and universities

Abstract

This article takes private undergraduate universities as the research object, analyzes the existing problems based on the current administrative management status of private undergraduate universities, studies the causes of the problems, and proposes improvement measures. This article is divided into three parts, with specific content as follows: The first part,“Theoretical foundations of strategic planning for optimization of administrative management”.Introduce the background, purpose, and significance of studying the administrative management reform of private undergraduate universities, sort out relevant research results at home and abroad, and summarize them. Based on the definition of core concepts such as "private universities" and "administrative management" studied in this article, seek theoretical basis for promoting the administrative management reform of private universities, and combine public management theory, administrative organization theory, governance theory, and other theories with the actual reform of local university administrative management systems. The second part,“Analysis of Y University's activities and planning strategy of Y University's administrative management”.Clarify the research content and methods of this article, analyze the characteristics of Y University's educational activities, including school overview, management structure, faculty team, student training, etc; And investigated and analyzed the financial situation of Y University in the past three years, and analyzed the shortcomings of Y University's administrative management planning strategies. The third part,“Development of a methodical approach to comprehensive assessment of the quality of strategic management of a higher educational institution”.Analyzed the global trends in strategic management of private universities and colleges, with a focus on the management models of private universities in the United States, Germany, and Japan. Suggestions for adjusting the strategic management model were provided from three aspects: diversification of administrative entities, participation of academic power in administrative decision-making, and improvement of relevant laws and regulations;Finally, ten improvement measures are proposed to optimize and enhance the administrative management of private universities, including clarifying the responsibilities of administrative positions in universities, promoting the transformation of the hierarchical system of university management to a flat one, improving the system of openness in school affairs, and increasing the participation of professors in school governance.
