The role hudrangea (Hydrangea L.) in ornamental gardening and floristry : propagation characteristics

Abstract

The purpose of the work. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the decorative qualities, biological and morphological parameters of various species and cultivars of the genus Hydrangea L. adapted to the conditions of Sumy, in order to expand the possibilities of their use in landscape design. The research materials included: articles by domestic and foreign scientists; seeds of three Hydrangea macrophylla cultivars (Nikko Blue, Twist-n-Shout, Endless Summer); and plants of the following hydrangea cultivars: Bounty (Hydrangea arborescens), Bobo (Hydrangea paniculata), and Twist-n-Shout (Hydrangea macrophylla). Research Methods: Phenological observations, bioecological methods, morphological methods. Conclusions: We investigated and analyzed the role of hydrangea (Hydrangea L.) in ornamental gardening and floristry, describing its main species and cultivars. We also analyzed the aesthetic and functional advantages of hydrangea in landscape design and floral arrangements. Phenological observations were conducted, the abundance of generative organ formation was assessed, and two methods of hydrangea propagation were studied.
