Wendl. |
| Description: | The qualification thesis proposes a comprehensive model for Saintpaulia cultivation, which significantly increases the multiplication factor and ornamental quality of plants through the implementation of modern technological solutions. The Object of Research. The processes of regeneration, vegetative growth, and generative development of Saintpaulia ionantha H. Wendl. plants under indoor (protected) ground conditions. The Subject of Research. The influence of substrate composition (peat, coconut, mixed), irrigation systems (traditional, tray, and wick irrigation), and cutting methods (whole leaf and leaf fragments) on the morphometric parameters and decorative value of African violets. The purpose of this research is to substantiate and improve the cultivation technology for Saintpaulia ionantha H. Wendl. by optimizing substrate mixtures, irrigation regimes, and vegetative propagation methods to increase the yield of highquality planting material and enhance the ornamental performance of Ukrainian-bred cultivars. Chapter 1 is devoted to the study of the biomorphological characteristics and specific cultivation requirements of Saintpaulia ionantha H. Wendl. under protected ground conditions, as well as the analysis of modern propagation technologies. Chapter 2 substantiates the methodology and describes the experimental research conditions. Chapter 3 presents the results of a comparative assessment of Ukrainianbred cultivars and an analysis of the influence of the physicochemical properties of substrates on plant regeneration. The efficiency of wick irrigation is proven, and the most cost-effective cutting methods for the mass reproduction of the crop are determined. |
