dc.description	The study of the term and terminology is relevant in modern linguistics. Together with the development of scientific knowledge, scientific approaches are constantly being updated, and the horizons of comprehensive research on branch terminology as a living system, the components of which are in the process of continuous semantic rearrangement and adjustment of meanings, are expanding. Terminology is the main source of replenishment of the vocabulary of highly developed modern languages. It is the most versatile means of storing, transmitting, and processing information, the volumes of which are growing at a frantic pace. The object of our analysis is the English terminological subsystem of pump engineering, the subject of research is the phenomenon of acronyms in the specified subsystem. The purpose of the work is to study the peculiarities of the acronym in the terminological subsystem of pump engineering. The analysis of the methods of term formation of the subsystem of pump construction shows that in the specified term system lexical units formed by shortening make up 12%.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	Вивчення терміна і термінології є актуальним у сучасній лінгвістиці. Разом із розвитком наукового знання змінюються, постійно оновлюються наукові підходи, розширюються горизонти комплексних досліджень галузевої термінології як живої системи, складники якої перебувають у процесі безперервного семантичного перегрупування й коригування значень. Термінологія є головним джерелом поповнення лексичного складу високорозвинених сучасних мов. Саме вона є найуніверсальнішим засобом зберігання, передавання, обробки інформації, обсяги якої зростають шаленими темпами. Об’єкт нашого аналізу – англiйська термінологічна підсистема насособудування, предмет дослiдження – феномен акронімії у зазначеній підсистемі. Метою роботи є вивчення особливостей акронімії у термінологічній підсистемі насособудування. Аналіз способів термінотворення підсистеми насособудування свідчить про те, що в зазначеній терміносистемі лексичні одиниці, утворені шляхом скорочення становлять 12%.	uk_UA
