dc.description	The article presents a comprehensive scientific study of the historical genesis of land management as a dynamic system that evolves under the influence of socio-economic, technological, and environmental factors. The purpose of the work is to conduct a retrospective analysis of the stages of land management development to identify the conceptual foundations of sustainable land use and reveal the underlying principles of rational territorial organization at different historical stages. The research methodology is based on systematic and historical approaches, methods of critical analysis of archival and scientific sources. The work analyzes the experience of ancient civilizations (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Rome), medieval land use systems, as well as the transformational processes of the Modern Era, particularly the English enclosures and the German school of «rational agriculture» by A. Thaer. Special attention is given to the evolution of land relations in the territory of Ukraine: from the imperial and Soviet periods to the current stage of market transformations. The research findings demonstrate that the fundamental principles of sustainable development (the balance of economic efficiency, social equity, and environmental safety) have deep historical roots and were applied intuitively long before their official formalization by the United Nations. It has been established that disregard for environmental constraints, characteristic of extensive models of the past century, led to land degradation, which underscores the imperative nature of transitioning to the contemporary paradigm of balanced land use. It is substantiated that modern land management must transform into a multifunctional management system that integrates digital technologies and principles of landscape planning. It has been demonstrated that sustainable land use development is not a static state but a continuous process of adaptation to global challenges, requiring consideration of both positive and negative historical experience.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	У статті проаналізовано еволюцію землеустрою від давніх часів до сучасності крізь призму концепції сталого розвитку. Досліджено основні етапи формування землевпорядної системи, виявлено історичні передумови виникнення принципів раціонального землекористування та охорони земельних ресурсів. Особливу увагу приділено трансформації підходів щодо організації території та використання земель у різні історичні періоди. Обґрунтовано, що багато сучасних принципів сталого землекористування мають глибоке історичне коріння та формувалися протягом століть під впливом економічних, соціальних і екологічних чинників.	uk_UA
