Description: The management of agricultural enterprises in an unstable economic environment requires a rethinking of classic management paradigms. Modern transformation processes necessitate the application of a behavioral approach to the analysis of management decisions. In agricultural enterprise management, the behavioral approach shifts the focus from abstract models to specific actors – their motives, knowledge, and responses to stimuli. The behavioral paradigm provides an effective analytical framework for explaining and predicting decisions in agricultural management, complementing classical economic models with a human dimension. The article develops the theoretical and methodological foundations of the behavioral paradigm in agricultural enterprise management. The classification of factors influencing decisions in agribusiness has been improved by introducing behavioral typology. Instead of the traditional division of factors into internal and external, their understanding has been supplemented through the prism of behavioral barriers and driving forces. In particular, the concept of internal barriers (cognitive and motivational constraints of managers) and external barriers (institutional and social obstacles) has been introduced to explain why enterprises do not always respond to economic incentives appropriately. A classification of factors influencing the decisions of agricultural enterprises has been carried out, demonstrating a complex, multi-level picture of behavioral determinants. Internal (personal and organizational) factors determine different responses to the same external stimuli, which explains why the results of policies or market signals vary between enterprises. External factors, in turn, set the framework for decision-making, but their influence is mediated through managers’ perceptions. Successful management requires aligning the internal potential and goals of the enterprise with external opportunities and threats. A methodological framework for studying the managerial behavior of agricultural enterprises has been developed, which includes proposals for the use of experimental methods. In particular, the feasibility of using field experiments and agent-based modeling to assess the behavioral responses of farmers to policy initiatives has been justified. The results can serve as a basis for developing recommendations both at the enterprise level (on improving management practices taking into account behavioral factors) and at the state policy level (on designing support programs that take into account the actual behavior of target groups).
