Тези присвячені розвитку та становленню австрійської німецької мови. Спочатку надається історична довідка щодо основних етапів розвитку австрійського варіанту німецької мови. Нова габсбурзька культурна свідомість Австро-Угорської монархії мала стати опорою держави. Потім дається огляд сучасного положення австрійської німецької в сучасному суспільстві. Дехто дуже критично ставилися до австріцизмів і вважали їх дефектними проявами німецької мови. В той час, коли люди часто ностальгували за мовою та культурою Монархії, період націонал-соціалізму з анексією Австрії до Німецького Рейху залишив суттєві мовні сліди, особливо в адміністрації, у публічному мовному вжитку та у публічному мовному вжитку.
