The qualification work is devoted to the development of inclusive and therapeutic phytocompositions for open and indoor spaces of a rehabilitation facility. The plant environment is considered here as a functional factor in the psycho-emotional and physical recovery of a person.
The work analyzes the world and domestic experience of horticulture and biophilic design. The natural and climatic conditions of the city of Sumy are studied in the context of plant adaptation to climate change. Based on a field survey of the existing landscaping of the center, the need to update its assortment is substantiated.
Design solutions based on functional zoning of the territory were developed. Concepts of sensory gardens (with an impact on vision, smell, touch, hearing) and therapeutic modules were proposed. The use of vertical phytosystems and mobile container compositions for interiors was justified.
The selection of plants was carried out on the principle of absolute safety (without thorns and allergens). Preference was given to phytoncidal, resistant species with a pronounced texture and continuous flowering. Recommendations for their maintenance were provided. The results have practical significance for the modernization of the space of the Sumy Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation.
